Man dies in hospital after emergency services are called to Hartlepool street

A 43-year-old man died in hospital after concerns were raised for him when he was found in the street.

Cleveland Police and the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) were called to Suggitt Street, just before 2pm yesterday, Sunday, January 10, after the man was found unconscious.

A spokesperson for the police said it had been called to reports of concerns for a man outside an address.

They added: "He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees but he sadly died shortly afterwards.

"His family has been notified and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.

“While inquiries are on-going, the 43-year-old man’s death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

A spokesperson for NEAS said it was called to reports a person had been found unconscious in the street and sent two double-crewed ambulances and a clinical care manager to the scene before taking the man to hospital.
