Hartlepool has headed to the polls on May 6.

The town is experiencing a “super Thursday” as voters head to the polls on May 6 to select a new MP, councillors, a police and crime commissioner and a Tees Valley Mayor Our photographer caught up with some of the electorate and their canine companions at polling stations across town.

Polls are open until 10 pm tonight.
