With entertainment venues now able to host performances following the latest easing of lockdown restrictions, a classic fairy tale is coming to the town’s Borough Hall in August.

There will be ten performances of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which is being performed by the council’s new pantomime supplier, AJ Productions, taking place from Friday, August 20, to Monday, August 30.

The panto will take place at Hartlepool's Borough Hall.

Hartlepool Borough Council’s cultural team are promising a spectacular show with special effects in a sparkling new production of the classic fairy tale.

The show will feature Steph Aird – making her pantomime debut – as the Magic Mirror and Hartlepool’s own Britain’s Got Talent finalist, impressionist Danny Posthill, who takes on the role of Billy No Mates.

They will be joined by pantomime legend the hilarious Davey Hopper as Muddles and panto dame Gary Martin Davis.

Other cast members include Gary Martin Davis as Nurse Nellie, Benjamin Storey as Prince, Hannah Woodward as Snow White and Bethan Searle as the Wicked Queen.

The show also features a band including Great British Pantomime Award winner James Harrison – aka “the most enthusiastic man in show business.”

Lauren Wilkinson, of Hartlepool Borough Council’s cultural services team, said: “Mirror, mirror on the wall, this is the fairest family entertainment of them all.

“We’re so excited to be hosting our first-ever summer panto at the Borough Hall.

"It will have a fantastic cast, some spellbinding sets, a range of special effects and provide entertainment for the whole family.”

She added: “People don’t have to wait until Christmas to treat their family to the wonder of pantomime.

"This is a chance to snap up the tickets now and give them something to really look forward to this summer.”

Tickets cost £18 for adults and £15 for children.

There is also a £59 family ticket offer which covers admission for two adults and two children.
