Police warning as Hartlepool youths breach Covid rules and throw eggs at windows

Police have asked families “do you know where your children are?” after reports of youths breaching lockdown restrictions and throwing eggs at windows.

They insist “it is a parent’s responsibility to ensure you know where your children are, who they are with and that they are staying safe” following a spate of incidents in Hartlepool.

A statement from Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team on Thursday, November 12, read: “We have had reports of a group of youths throwing eggs at windows and causing other anti-social behaviour in the area of Seaton Carew.

“We will not tolerate this sort of behaviour and police will deal with any youths causing harassment, alarm or distress to local residents as this is not acceptable.

“Youths are also breaching Covid regulations. It is a parent’s responsibility to ensure you know where your children are, who they are with and that they are staying safe.

“If residents are experiencing any problems then please call 101 as and when problems occur.”
