And this year that holiday cheer is needed all the more as families face a very different Christmas as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Jack, from Oak Road in Easington, went above and beyond for his latest display which features a range of much-loved Disney characters and a glowing nativity scene.
The kind-hearted teenager said the reaction of his neighbours has made his efforts all worthwhile.
He said: “I have done a display for many years but when I started working away I sold most of the decorations.
“But when I came home everyone was saying ‘we need to see the lights!’
"So I went out a got as many as I could to try and get Christmas looking a bit more normal.”
Jack, who works for Parkdean Resorts in Essex, added: “All of the neighbours have been commenting on how good it was and have said I made they day with the lights.”
