Summer has officially begun following the summer solstice on Thursday, June 20, and Hartlepool can finally look forward to some sun.

Experts at the Met Office have predicted a sunny start to the day on Friday, June 21, as sunny intervals accompany temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius.

Much of the same can be expected on Saturday, June 22, as temperatures sit comfortably at 20 degrees Celsius for much of the day, before cooling off to 16 degrees Celsius in the evening.

Despite Sunday being mostly cloudy, from Monday, June 24, Hartlepool can expect sunshine all day and highs of 22 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures are expected to remain high throughout the night, dropping to lows of 16 degrees Celsius, before picking up again on Tuesday, June 25.

On Tuesday, people can enjoy another hot and sunny day as temperatures reach 21 degrees Celsius.
