The chips, the people and the beach: What Mail readers would miss most about Hartlepool

From the beautiful coastline to the friendly locals, the chippy teas and the accents, you took to our Facebook page to share your favourite things about the town.

Lee Kennedy: “I've worked all over the UK and Europe, and there are many many places that can't hold a candle to this town. We are so lucky here, the coast and the countryside, some great heritage and amazing people.”

Gibbon David Williams: “I have great childhood memories of Hartlepool and every time I return I always see changes, I think the town has developed a lot and all for the better.”

Martin French: “So it’s the seafront for me. I moved away over 20 years ago and when I go back I head for the sea.”

Marky Two-Baskets Hewitt: “I have lived away and missed the sea, and the carnival parade.”

Susan Dahlstrom: “I lived down south for 30 years and moved back to Hartlepool seven years ago - only place I feel at home, I love this place.”

Elizabeth Mason: “We live in Seaton but would miss everything and would get back here as quickly as I could.”
