The teenager who baked cakes and did charity run to support Hartlepool's army of carers
Ebony Brown, 15, raised almost £470 after she took on a mission to help the Hartlepool Carers group, and especially the young carers section.
She completed a 2.6 mile run along the beach from King Oswy to the Headland and back to raise money.

Christine, from the King Oswy area, suffers from back problems as well as other health issues. But Ebony, who is one of 2,000 young carers in Hartlepool, gets up at 6am every day to help her mum.
Proud mum Christine said: “Ebony has raised £468 up to now for Hartlepool Carers. It took her just over half an hour to do the run on the beach.

Christine Fewster, chief executive of Hartlepool Carers, said: “We are absolutely delighted. Ebony is a young carer herself but she still finds the time to help other young carers across the town, something we need to celebrate.
“Funds will go to support young carers activities after lockdown. I’m sure the groups will come up with something entertaining to do!
“A huge thank you to Ebony and her family who have supported her to get this of the ground and to everyone who donated.”
