Top fashion designer Scott Henshall lends his support and dresses to Hartlepool salon's kindness campaign

Scott Henshall, who grew up in Hartlepool visited At Ladies Room on the marina for a photoshoot to help celebrate diversity and spread the word about the salon’s Be You Be Kind initiative.
The campaign has already seen hundreds of individuals, businesses and schools leave hand-shaped kindness pledges in the salon’s front window.

Hide AdScott has now extended his support by joining in a photoshoot at the salon on the town’s Vision Retail park on Thursday.
North-East photographer Debbie Todd photographed models, including At Ladies Room staff, in a selection of Scott’s dresses.
Scott told the Mail: “Everybody needs to be kind to everybody. Whatever you are just be kinder to yourself, to everyone.
"I think now more than ever that’s more important than anything. And I love doing anything back in my home town.”

Hide AdHe said the models, including salon owner Kirsty Wearmouth wearing Scott’s most expensive dress in the world, looked “amazing”.
Scott, former creative director of Mulberry, added: “A guy can wear my dress, a girl can wear my dress, someone that’s transgender can wear the dress.
"I just love the dresses being out there. As long as they’re rocking and they’re being fabulous that’s perfect.”
He offered to support At Ladies Room’s campaign after seeing the hands on display when visiting the salon with his mum recently.

Hide AdOwner Kirsty, who wore Scott’s famous Spider-Man dress previously worn by Samantha Mumba and valued at £5million, said: “It feels amazing having this dress on and it’s an honour that Scott chose us to showcase his dresses to go with our anti-bullying campaign.”
To also celebrate Pride month models in the photoshoot included a drag queen and gay staff members.
At Ladies Room manager Michaela Porritt said: “We’ll use the photos on our social media and Scott will also share them on his.
"The campaign’s going really well. We got 200 hands in the first week or so. People have also been getting in touch asking if we are still accepting them.”

Hide AdKirsty added it is also being shared around the world by people including by model and socialite Lady Victoria Hervey on her Instagram.
