On parade - this is why so many Hartlepool veterans paraded at the war memorial this weekend

Armed forces veterans from Hartlepool and further afield paraded to show their support for those defending the UK.

Paul Allen, former 1st Battalion the Light Infantry and current Chairman of the DLI Light Infantry & Rifles Hartlepool branch organised the successful event in Victory Square on Saturday, July 4.

The event was held after Hartlepool's planned Armed Forces Day events due to take place on June 27 was cancelled because of coronavirus.

Mail chief photographer Frank Reid was there to capture the event.
