Police cordon off Hartlepool road after man taken to hospital following concerns for his welfare

A road is cordoned off by police on Saturday morning (December 18) after a man was taken to hospital in the early hours after being found in Hartlepool.

North East Ambulance Service attended an incident in Stockton Road shortly after 3am following concerns of a man’s welfare.

Stockton Road near the Burn Valley roundabout has been sealed off by police and remains closed this morning – although police are yet to confirm the cordon is linked to the same incident.

A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We attended an incident in Stockton Road, Hartlepool, at 3.10am this morning following concerns of a man’s welfare.

"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance, a specialist paramedic and a medicar.

"One patient was transported to James Cook Hospital.”

The man’s condition and any injuries is not yet known.
