Police investigate after overnight fire at Hartlepool property

Police are making inquiries into a suspected rubbish fire which damaged part of a Hartlepool property.

Two appliances from Hartlepool Community Fire Station attended the incident in the town’s Haswell Avenue after being called just after 1.30am on Tuesday, March 23.

They left the scene around 40 minutes later at 2.13am.

Windows, a conservatory, fence and gate were damaged and the property also suffered light smoke damage internally.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “We are making inquiries into the circumstances.”
