Existing franchise partners of Euro Garages include KFC, Burger King, Subway, Greggs and Starbucks.
A planning statement, from Tom Jeremiah, group planning director for Euro Garages, notes the development would be a beneficial addition to the area.
It said: “The proposal is a good fit adjacent to the existing mix of retail and commercial land uses.

“The proposed development makes good economic use of an area of under utilised land within an existing commercial centre with excellent infrastructure provision.
“It is located within an allocated commercial centre and will not impact the amenity or function of the hierarchy of centres in Hartlepool, whilst generating new employment and investment.”
The development would result in the overall loss of 74 car parking spaces at the site, while 11 dedicated spaces would be provided to serve the restaurant, along with two disabled bays.

Hide AdThe planning statement added the car parking spaces which would be lost at Asda are ‘surplus and rarely utilised’, due to being across the road from the supermarket and its main car park.
It said: “Shoppers are less inclined to park in this area and push or carry their shopping across the main car park and access road.”
The proposals would give permission for the restaurant to be able to open from 6am until 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 6am until 10pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
The plans come after in 2019 Euro Garages partnered with Asda to deliver ‘an enhanced customer experience and food service offer’ at existing supermarkets, including the Marina Way site.
