Parking will be retained to the west of the site, with a total of 21 spaces proposed to be assigned to the apartments, with one for each flat and three visitor spaces.
Planning documents, submitted by Cameron Rose Associates on behalf of the applicant, state the site has sustainable transport links and could house key workers in the area.
It said: “The site is within walking distance of existing public transport connections and is well served by high standard local walking/cycling connections.

“As the development is intended to cater for key workers, consideration has been given to the walking route to University Hospital of Hartlepool (where some key workers may be working).”
The proposals would also provide a total of 20 cycle parking spaces to the ground floor of the development.
In total the site would feature 15 two bed apartments and three one bed sites, if proposals are approved.

Hide AdPlans state the building will house six properties on each of the upper three floors, and all habitable rooms in the apartments will feature windows providing natural light.
As part of the plans a commercial noise assessment has also been undertaken, which states there should be no issues with the development.
A decision is expected to be made on the proposals by the council planning department by the end of this month.
