Hartlepool MP Jonathan Brash says: '£21.5m Pride in Place programme is making a difference to our town'
Labour investment is already transforming community facilities across our town and this is just the beginning of a £21.5 million Pride in Place programme.
One of the things I’m proudest of as Hartlepool’s MP is fighting to secure investment that makes a tangible difference to our town.
Through Labour’s Pride in Place Impact Fund, I secured £1.5 million for Hartlepool, helping community organisations improve the facilities they provide for local people.
I’ve recently visited Hartlepool Rovers FC, where funding has supported new changing facilities, and Hartlepool Stage Society, which has installed a fantastic new kitchen.

These might seem like small things to some people.
But they make a huge difference to the volunteers, performers, players and families who rely on these organisations.
And they are just two examples of what this investment is achieving.
The 15 projects supported include a new sports hall floor at Belle Vue Centre, toilet improvements at HartlePower at Greenbank, a community garden at St Oswald’s Parish Church, lift refurbishment at Hartlepool People’s Centre, improvements at Hartlepool Wadokai, kitchen replacements at Let’s Connect and external render replacement at West View Advice and Resource Centre.

Funding is also supporting new flooring at West View Project Children and Young People’s Activity Centre, archive storage at Heugh Battery Museum, security shutters at Browning Avenue Baptist Church, refurbished community rooms at Six8Nine and boiler, alarm and CCTV upgrades at Salaam Community Centre and Poolie Time Exchange as well as new floodlighting at West Hartlepool Rugby Football Club.
Through Labour’s £20 million Pride in Place programme, a further £200,000 is now available in the first round of funding to improve Hartlepool’s parks, beaches, public spaces, community buildings, and neighbourhoods.
This is the beginning of a decade of investment to help our communities shape their own futures.
Charities, community groups, schools, social enterprises and public-sector organisations can apply.
Residents can also put forward ideas to help shape future investment.
There is no set minimum or maximum grant and match funding is encouraged but not compulsory.
Applications close at 5pm on Monday, November 30.

I’m proud to have secured this Labour investment for Hartlepool.
Now I want our communities to make the most of the opportunities ahead.
