Mr Hill wrote to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport last week appealing to it to end the funding uncertainty after talks with Pools Chairman Raj Singh and the Hartlepool United Supporters Trust.
On Wednesday (January 27) the department announced a new £10million grant package for clubs in leagues lower than Hartlepool United.

Mr Hill said: “Having had direct discussions with the Chairman of Hartlepool United, Raj Singh, and I wrote to the Secretary of State over a week ago to lobby for the uncertain situation with National League funding to be resolved.
“The Chairman and the fans made it clear to me that their preference was that future support should continue to be in the form of grants rather than loans, as has been the case up to now, because of the disproportionate effect of loss of revenue compared to higher league clubs.
“I am disgusted that the Government haven’t responded to my letter, which was prompted by the fans and the Chairman of the club, and frankly annoyed that a club that has survived so many twists and turns in its history, could go under because of a change in direction from Tory ministers over the type of funding available.”

Hartlepool United currently sit third in the league table and have their best chance of promotion to the English Football League since they were relegated in 2017.
Mr Hill added: “There is nothing better than watching live football and I can’t wait to be back in the stands sharing the good times and the bad times, but right now our clubs are in crisis and they need direct intervention and Government support.”
Conservative Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen has also lobbied the Government to support clubs including Hartlepool.
