Protect what we've got

Mike Hill, of Unison, is right to draw attention to the fact that A&E services won’t be returning to the University Hospital of Hartlepool any time soon.

In light of the Tories’ Better Health programme, there is almost no chance that this will happen.

We need to draw a line under the debate over A&E and move on, so we can protect what services we’ve got.

Because the reality is we will have nothing if the Tories have their way.
