Pupils scale new heights at Billingham's latest attraction

GoClimb, which opened at Billingham Forum, is a new climbing attraction which is being hailed as ‘the biggest and newest all inclusive climbing adventure to burst out of the Tees Valley’.

It has 21 walls, each showcasing their own explosive design with themes like Tetris, a frozen castle, snakes and ladders and an electrifying lightning bolt.

GoClimb also offers a 22ft vertical plunge slide, a leap of faith challenge and a spiral of rising towers.

Steve Chaytor, Managing Director of Tees Active, said, “GoClimb is a fantastic addition to Billingham Forum and complements our existing range of leisure activities such as ice skating and swimming. It’s important to make sure we continue to provide more choice and more opportunity to encourage people to keep active whilst having fun with family and friends. We expect to attract 28,000 new customers to the venue each year which will have a positive impact on the local economy.”

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “This is another excellent addition to the leisure offer here in Stockton Borough following the opening of the marvellous Air Trail high ropes course at the Tees Barrage.

“GoClimb will bring out the adventurer in everyone that visits with its unique climbing walls and slide. It’s suitable and safe for all ages so I would encourage people to take that leap of faith and to try something new and exciting right here on our doorstep in Billingham.”
