And the Pools money man has set Poolies a target - with Singh wanting attendances to increase to more than 4,000 every week.

He does, however, accept that this is only likely if the team do their job on the park.

“We want as many fans as possible coming to games here and building the atmosphere. We know how important that is the to club,” said Singh.

“I personally believe that if we can be up towards the top of the table then we can regularly get 4,000 or more coming to home games.

“If we do that then the Super 6 Stadium will certainly be an intimidating place for opposition teams to play.

“That’s the type of atmosphere we want to try and create, though we know that performances have to be delivered first.”

Whatever attendances of the future, Singh has been bowled over the atmosphere created by Poolies, after two successive fifth tier home encounters in a week.

“Pools fans have massively impressed me,” said Singh in his weekly column in Blue Print.

“You not only turn up in good numbers but also create a brilliant atmosphere and give the players all your backing.

“This can’t be underestimated because it certainly helps the team.”

Under Singh and with the help of Jeff Stelling and Mark Maguire, Pools seem to be taking advantage of sponsorship opportunities and extra revenue streams.

The naming rights for the stadium is just one example of that.

Singh said: “We’re very appreciative of the support from Super 6 - it demonstrates the good work going on behind the scenes.

“Jeff’s role in this has been massive. His connections helped get this deal on the table. I’ve said before that we know he can open doors for us because of his reputation. We’re delighted to welcome Super 6 on board.”
