Recalling the pancake races
It was great seeing the old pictures again of the pancake races (Mail, February 6).
Pictured, bottom left, in the J T Atkinson t-shirt and again, bottom right, being presented as the 1987 winner is myself as a young 21-year-old.
At the time of the photos I was living in Seaton Carew, and I was employed as a buyer for J T Atkinson, builders merchant.
I was also a 100m high hurdler for Morpeth Harriers.
As I remember, they turned it into a relay the following year!
