Richard Ashcroft announces North East tour date

Richard Ashcroft has today announced a UK & Ireland headline tour for April and May 2019, including a date in the North East.

The tour, which will see him perform at Newcastle O2 Academy on Monday, April 22, comes on the back of his fifth solo studio album Natural Rebel, which will be released on October 19.

The album will be released on his own RPA label and will be his first released via BMG.

It marks the latest chapter for in the former Verve frontman’s solo career and follows previous albums Alone With Everybody in 2000; Human Conditions in 2002; Keys to the World in 2006 and These People in 2016.

The singer today released an acoustic track Hey Columbo. Describing the track, he said: “Warning: This song contains explicit language. Do not play on the school run, but turn it up on the way home.”

Richard Ashcroft will play some sold out intimate shows this winter in support of Natural Rebel ahead of the main UK album tour next year, including a date at Middlesborough Town Hall on October 28, which has already sold out.
