Search for witnesses after motorcyclist is hurt after collision with Mini Cooper

A motorbiker was taken to hospital with leg and chest injuries following a collision with a car at a busy junction.

Cleveland Police has today, Monday, December 14, issued an appeal for witnesses as its officers investigate the circumstances of the crash between a blue Yamaha bike and a silver Mini Cooper at around 1.10pm on Friday, December 11.

Emergency services were called to the scene after the crash happened at the junction of Marsh House Lane and Cowpen Lane in Billingham.

The 26-year-old man who had been riding the bike was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment for his injuries to his chest and one of his legs following the incident.

Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who has dashcam footage from the area which could help officers with their inquiries is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 142496.
