Still a caring, kind doctor

My family read about Dr Peverley with great sadness (Mail, February 2).

He diagnosed my father with Alzheimer’s with such grace and warmth, and helped our family through a really traumatic time.

Even under immense pressure, which sadly turned out how it has, he was an amazing, caring doctor.

I am really against drink driving, and lost a friend to a drink driver years ago so do not endorse that at all.

However, on behalf of my family, I really feel that I have to let you know that, despite what he has done, he is a fantastic, caring, kind doctor.

This country is 5,000 GPs down and in desperate need of good GPs.

We are glad he has not lost his job.

He made a terrible time more bearable for us.
