Suspicious allotment blaze in Hartlepool

Crews were called to allotments on Chester Road at 3.50am on Thursday.

Two appliances from Stranton fire station attended the blaze and fire fighters spent an hour-and-a-half putting it out.

Two large allotment sheds were completely destroyed by by the fire which was "probably started deliberately", according to a station spokesman.

There was no livestock on the site at the time and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
