Teen in court charged with burglary and dangerous driving in Hartlepool

Cleveland Police pursued a silver Skoda on West View Road before it crashed into a roundabout near the Brus shops at 6:35pm on Saturday night.

Police say they suspect the car is stolen from a business premises on Brenda Road sometime between the evening of September 8 and 9.

Now a 16-year-old has appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court this morning charged with burglary, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failure to stop.

He has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and a racially aggravated offence and has been released whilst under investigation.

A second 16-year-old, a 17-year-old and a 19-year-olds have also been arrested on suspicion of burglary and released whilst under investigation.

A second 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and aggravated vehicle taking and has been released whilst under investigation.
