Tees Valley praised for its '˜let's get on with it' winning mentality
Town company JDR Cables, which recently won a string of high-profile orders, was highlighted at the annual meeting of the North East England Chamber of Commerce Tees Valley.
More than 100 leading business were there to hear from speakers including the chairman of the Tees Valley committee Michael McConnell.

Hide AdHe said: “In the wake of the SSI closure the region has demonstrated resilience and ‘lets get on with it’ mentality, with positive news from a number of Tees Valley businesses.
“JDR Cables of Hartlepool has won a Dong Energy contract for the Hornsea One Offshore Wind Farm and Darlington’s Deep Ocean also secured a multi-million order for the same project.
“There is also the MGT Power biomass development at Teesport and a £35m quay reconstruction for my own business, PD Ports.”
Mr McConnell also talked of the “opportunities for our region” which included a new Development Corporation to incorporate the former SSI site.
He said: “It is important this new organisation taps into and reflects the knowledge of the Tees Valley business sector whether that is on international contacts or manufacturing expertise.”
