Time left to see village's annual pantomime

People still have chance to get tickets to enjoy a '˜great tradition' when an annual pantomime hits the stage.

Blackhall Community Drama Group is performing Dick Whittington at Blackhall Community Centre, in Hesleden Road.

It is the latest in a long line of shows from the group, and this is its 57th annual pantomime.

The first show was staged last night, with further performances at 7pm tonight, tomorrow and Friday, before a final matinee show on Saturday at 2pm.

Margaret Stephenson, who is in charge of the costumes and helps to run the show, said: “The show has been going for over 50 years, and is a great tradition in Blackhall.

“Dick Whittington has a lovely story, and this is a great show.”

Tickets for the show cost £4 across the board, with the panto to be produced by Carole Scott and choreographed by Catherine Hall.

The age range of the group’s performers is seven to 75, while all of the profits will go towards the running of Blackhall Community Centre.
