It was reported that the Government was thinking of making attendance allowance for over-65s, the responsibility of councils.

At present attendance allowance is paid to 1.5 million people over 65, and is not means-tested.

Recipients do not have to spend the allowance on personal care.

The idea has raised fears that the benefit could be restricted or capped.

If you have ever wondered if you could be entitled to the allowance, now is the time to find out and make a claim otherwise it could be too late.
