Driver treated by paramedics after collision on Hartlepool dual carriageway

A driver was treated by paramedics after their car crashed on a busy Hartlepool route.

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) was called to the A179 Marina Away on Thursday, January 9, following the single-vehicle crash.

It happened near to the High Point Retail Park, the base of Pets at Home, Dunelm, Wynsors World of Shoes and Bensons for Beds, and close to the junction of Middleton Road.

The Mail understands the car involved, a white BMW 335D, collided with the central reservation, leaving debris scattered across both sides of the dual carriageway.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 7.02pm to a road traffic collision involving one car on the A179 Marina Way in Hartlepool.

“We dispatched a rapid response paramedic and one patient was discharged at the scene.”

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said that the collision was damage-only and added that they were called at around 7.15pm to the scene.
