The station has been planned for many years and as of today, Monday, June 29, it is a reality as people begin to use the South East View station to catch services.
The project has been led by by Durham County Council and Network Rail, additional support through a £4.4 million grant from the Department for Transport’s New Stations Fund.
The station was quiet during our visit, but the Government has recommended people only take public transport if they must as measures to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus continue. Photo: Frank Reid
