All aboard for a tour around Horden’s £10.55 million train station as we mark its milestone day with these photos.

The station has been planned for many years and as of today, Monday, June 29, it is a reality as people begin to use the South East View station to catch services.

The project has been led by by Durham County Council and Network Rail, additional support through a £4.4 million grant from the Department for Transport’s New Stations Fund.

Its official launch day is yet to be confirmed by the council, as it waits until the lockdown measures reduce to mark the achievement.
