A19 reopens after scrap car comes off the back of a lorry and forces closure

A section of the road near Hartlepool had to close on Tuesday afternoon.

Cleveland Police have been called to the scene.

One of the lanes on the A19 northbound between Norton and Wynyard had to close after a scrap car came off the back of a lorry at around 1 pm on Tuesday, June 22.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area as the scrap car was being recovered.

Cleveland Police have said that nobody was injured in the incident.

The road had reopened fully by 3 pm.
