Motorcyclist dies after Christmas Day road collision

A motorcyclist has died after a Christmas Day road collision.

The collision, which involved a red Hyundai I30 and a blue Suzuki motorcycle, happened at around 1:05pm on Belasis Avenue in Billingham, close to the Quorn factory.

The motorccylist, a man believed to be aged in his early thirties, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Cleveland Police said: “The man’s family have been informed and our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”

The driver of the Hyundai, a woman aged in her fifties, was taken to hospital with a suspected broken wrist and minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or any local residents or businesses with CCTV or dash cam footage, are asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting event number 208654.
