Motorists face delays as part of A689 closed after two-vehicle crash near Hartlepool

Motorists are facing delays and disruption after emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision near Hartlepool this morning.

Police and ambulance crews attended the incident after receiving reports of a crash on the A689 at Wolviston at around 8.15 am on Wednesday, June 9.

The collision involved a Ford and a Volvo and Cleveland Police have said there is currently a full closure on the A689 from Wolviston Roundabout to Newton Bewley.

Cleveland Police said: “There has been a two-vehicle collision involving a Ford and a Volvo – occurred at around 8:15am.

“No serious injuries.

“Road is blocked and we are waiting for recovery.”

The North East Ambulance Service have said three people were treated and discharged at the scene.

A NEAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.21 to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A689 at Wolviston.

“We dispatched a rapid response paramedic and treated and discharged three patients at the scene.”
