Resurfacing work on major Hartlepool road set to cause traffic disruption
Reconstruction work will begin on parts of Elwick Road in Hartlepool on Monday, February 24, which will result in partial closures and traffic diversions during the course of the project.
Work will begin this week and several sections of the road between Park Drive and Dunston Road roundabout need to be replaced as the surface is failing badly.
The work is expected to take about three weeks to complete and the roadworks could cause traffic diversions and possible road closures.

Hide AdA stretch of Elwick Road between Egerton Road and the north end of West Park is to be closed during this period and traffic will be diverted along Egerton Road and West Park.
Part of the road directly in front of Woodlands Grove is also going to be reconstructed, with temporary traffic lights required during the works.
Residents affected by the road works are advised to put their bins out as usual.
