Tributes pour in for tragic Hartlepool youngster Ethan Owens

Hundreds of people have left messages of love for a Hartlepool youngster who has lost his battle for life following a road crash.

Hartlepool schoolboy Ethan Owens died after an eight-day fight for life after being knocked down in a road accident in the town.

Ethan, nine, had been in a critical condition since the collision on Marina Way in Hartlepool last Monday evening, and died in James Cook University Hospital.

A pupil at Jesmond Gardens Primary School, Ethan, was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital in a critical condition where his parents, Paul Owens, 36, and Lisa Cooper, 37, had kept a bedside vigil.

Scores of messages of sympathy and support have been left on the Hartlepool Mail's Facebook page.
