Turning on the style to raise money for Hartlepool & District Hospice

Tickets are still available for the event at the Best Western Grand Hotel in the town on June 15.

It is called Tea & Fashion and the day of fundraising is sponsored by the hospice’s corporate partners Tilly, Bailey & Irvine law firm, in association with Waltons, Clark Whitehill accountants.

Organisers say the charity event follows on from last year’s hugely successful Ladies’ Lunch event which raised £5,000 for the cause.

This year’s highlights include a drinks reception, boutique shopping, afternoon tea, raffle and a fashion show.

Members of the Hartlepool-based Mum’s The Word choir will be modelling pieces from the spring and summer range by Next.

Hospice fundraiser Greg Hildreth said: “We are thrilled to be working with Tilly Bailey &Irvine again as well as all of the other organisations that have joined us for this year’s event.”

He added: “I would like to thank everyone who has supported this project so far and I would urge guests to get their tickets booked as they are selling well. As ever, all the money we raise will be used to fund hospice care in Hartlepool and the East Durham area.”

The hospice is ased in Wells Avenue, and offers specialist palliative care to hundreds of adults who are living with illnesses including cancer, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder, Motor Neurone Disease, end stage heart disease and Parkinson’s.

It costs £2.3 million to continue providing the current range of services. The Hospice receives 24% NHS funding so the outstanding £1.7 million must be raised through the local community and other fundraising initiatives.
