After April brought some gloriously warm and sunny weather during the lockdown, it doesn’t look like we’ll be spending much time in the garden over the next couple of days.

The first weekend of May looks set to be a mostly cloudy one in Hartlepool.

What will the weather be like on Saturday, May 2?

According to weather forecasters Saturday will start off with sunny intervals, changing to cloudy by lunchtime with maximum temperatures of 14C.

Morning

A dry and sunny start with a 5-10% chance of rain, but clouding over by around 10am.

Afternoon

Prepare for some light showers around 3pm, clearing up by the evening with sunny intervals later on.

What will the weather be like on Sunday, May 3?

Forecasters predict it will be mainly cloudy changing to light showers in the early evening, with temperatures reaching highs of around 12C.

Early on in the day it will be cloudy but dry with a less than 5% chance of rain.

Afternoon

It will be cloudy most of the afternoon with light showers around 7pm.

What about the rest of the North East?

According to the Met Office, the region can expect a mostly dry start with some bright, sunny spells.

However cloud bubbling up, with showers developing by afternoon, locally on the heavy side. Showers gradually decrease through the evening.

Maximum temperature 13C.
