From Monday rule changes mean people can meet others outdoors as school Easter holidays start in Sunderland and ahead of the bank holiday weekend.

What will the weather be like as we’re able to head outside to meet our loved ones?

UK’s long range forecast expects it to be ‘unsettled’

As the days progress, there will be high pressure building across the country, leading to more settled conditions.

How warm will be it?

During this time, it is likely to be cooler in the north, while the south will experience milder conditions, but that means that end of the country will get wind and rain too.

What about further ahead?

From Tuesday, April 6, to Tuesday, April 20, we can expect more settled conditions, with drier than average weather and brighter conditions.

Temperatures are likely to be at or above average, but with short-lived cooler interludes mostly across the north.

This will also be the stage when we could – if the roadmap goes to plan from April 12 – see non-essential retail reopen alongside hairdressers, barbers and nail salons, public buildings such as libraries and community centres, indoor leisure facilities such as gyms, and most outdoor venues such as zoos, theme parks, and drive-in cinemas.

Self-contained accommodation, where indoor facilities are not shared with other households, will be open again and hospitality venues will be allowed to serve people outdoors through a table service.
