Wolviston store staff boosts hospice funds

The Nisa Local at Wynyard Park service station on Coal Lane made the donation to Butterwick Hospice through the store’s Making a Difference Locally charity. The money will help towards the support of residents at the hospice.

The cheque was presented to Jess Naylor at Butterwick Hospice in Stockton, which is celebrating 30 years of caring for the community this year.

The hospice aims to care for as many people as possible who are living with a progressive life-limiting illness, and all services there are provided free of charge to patients and to their loved ones.

Making a Difference Locally raises funds in Nisa stores through the sale of items from its own-label Heritage range and a number of branded products. A percentage of this money goes into a virtual fund for the store to donate to a local charity or good cause within a 10-mile radius.

Store manager Brian McGregor said: “Our staff voted for Butterwick Hospice to be the recipient of our Making a Difference Locally donation, recognising what a valuable role it plays in our community.”

The Nisa Local is a 24-hour convenience store and BP petrol station at Wynyard Park Services, at the junction between the A19 and A689.

To support the work of Making a Difference Locally and help good causes, shoppers are urged to look out for Heritage products.
