Youngsters aksed to make Hartlepool shopping centre's new mascot
Shoppers are being asked to help to come up with a name for their new children's mascot.
The shopping centre has launched its Little Grangers kids’ club once a month.
But it is asking for help to Christen the colourful character.
He made his first appearance at the recent launch of the new kids’ club.
The friendly character joined more than 50 children in the newly refurbished free play area.
He will be making regular appearances at the centre, and young shoppers are now being asked to help name him.
Middleton Grange centre manager Mark Rycraft said: “Little Grangers will take place from 11am to 3pm on the third Sunday of the month and is completely free.
“The next club is called Zappy Zoo and will be led by Zara Zookeeper who will lead the creative play to round-up the animals who have escaped from the Middleton Grange Zoo.
“Kids get a sticker every time they come and there is a loyalty card too so that on their fifth visit they get a free gift.
“As well as Little Grangers we have the new play area which is proving really popular and we know our mascot will be loved by shoppers young and old. Now we just need help to name him.
“Our shoppers are always really creative and we can’t wait to hear all of the suggestions.”
A competition running on the centre’s Facebook page to name the new mascot.
Suggestions so far include Middie, Granger Mouse, Stripy, Jackson and Pip to name just a few.
The person who comes up with the best name will win a £25 voucher to spend at the centre along with a personalised photograph with the mascot.
Middleton Grange’s kids club and play area are free for shoppers to use.
The shopping centre launched a new initiative to help keep visitors both young and old safe with its new wristbands.
They are available now from the customer services desk on the second floor of the centre.
