Your Golden memories of a Hartlepool school
We posted a photograph on social media of pupils dancing round the maypole in the 1960s.
We asked if you remembered the scene and more than 6,000 of you showed an interest.

Hide AdNorma Brown was one of them and remembered doing the dancing. She loved it, she said.
“Fantastic school, went there from 1955 to 1961. Mr Knocks was the headmaster, loved dancing round the maypole xx”
And she was not alone in dishing out the praise, or in remembering Mr Knocks.
Pamela Gouldburn said: “I started the day the school opened. Mr Knocks was headmaster.”

Hide AdKathy Dawber told us: “My brother and me both went to this school. Mr knocks was the headmaster. Good school.”
Roz Wilkinson added: “I went there mr knox was head.”
Peter Brackstone said: “I went there, and my 4 sisters. Mr Knox was the headmaster and he was also chief of the Boy Scouts. The only teachers I can remember were Miss Lumley and Mr Hardy who were both my teachers.”
Pauline Balderson said she “loved the tuck shop” while Simon Harrow said: “Alright that school. Went there myself.”
Brian White said Mr Barton was the headteacher when he was there while Lesley Wise said: “Great school. My dad went there and me and my sister too. Mr Bell was the Headmaster when we went. Lovely man. Great memories xx”
