How Game of Thrones and Friends are helping us choose our holidays

Holidaymakers are jetting off to holiday destinations because they have seen them on screen, according to a new survey.

The poll showed one in five of us has holidayed in a specific destination after seeing it featuring on TV or in a film, and wanting to visit.

But the trend of 'set jetting' appears to be well and truly in fashion this year with 60 per cent of respondents saying they have been inspired to choose their 2019 holiday destination based on seeing it on screen.

Men are more likely than women to be inspired by the big screen, and more than one in five people plan to visit at least three destinations they have seen on the screen this year.

The research by Jet2holidays shows the massive influence of Game of Thrones, with five locations associated with the making the list of Set Jet destinations where we plan to holiday.
