Promoter Phil Jeffries told SportMail that the Hartlepool-trained duo will both feature on his show, titled ‘Colossal’ at Houghton next month.

Fellow town boxer, Daniel Cope, will also be in action at the Rainton Meadows Arena, along with Gus Robinson Developments team-mate, Liam Cammock, providing his medical paperwork is cleared in time.

The Wards will be in action on the same promotion for the fourth time in their careers.

Manager Dave Garside and trainer Neil Fannan are hopeful Martin is close to a challenge for a title at super-banatam, having previously been Commonwealth belt holder at banatam.

Younger sibling Tommy has won all 12 of his pro bouts and is moving towards English featherweight championship contention.

The 20-year-old this month outpointed former Ghana champion Isaac Owusu in Blackpool, referee Alvin Finch awarding him every round.

Ironically, Martin, 26, also beat Owusu in his last appearance, a points shut-out at Rainton Meadows Arena last November.

Jeffries is relishing seeing the entertaining boxers on his 15-bout card on March 8.

“I watched Tommy in Blackpool and he was out of this world,” said the Wearside fight figure.

“It was the best I’ve seen him box – he was punch perfect.

“Owusu is a good fighter buit he could do nothing with Tommy. He handled him brilliantly, possibly even better than Martin had on my last show at the Rainton Meadows Arena.

“That kid will go far, I’m sure about that.

“It’s nice to have him on the bill – the last time at Rainton Meadows his opponent pulled out at the last minute.

“The Wards are class kids and it’s hard to get them matched here so I’m going to have to go overseas to get them opponents. But they will definitely be on.”

Jeffies is promoting the show, working in association with old friend Fannan.

“It’s the biggest show I’ve ever put on,” he added. “Me and Neil are excited to have 15 bouts. But it’s not about quantity, it’s about quality too. We want good bouts.”
