Hartlepool, Seaton Carew and Blackhall in NYSD league action

Saturday sees them travel to Richmondshire, which will be a much more difficult encounter than they have faced in recent weeks. The North Yorkshire side are still chasing down league leaders Darlington who sit 18 points in front of them at present, despite both sides winning 14 games each.

The difference being Richmond have won only four games batting first, gaining a maximum 25 points whilst Darlington have won seven batting first.

And with the two sides meeting next week, Richmond will no doubt be keen to bat first and try and roll Pool over to put them in the best position for the final weekend.

When the sides met previously, Pool were simply outclassed after a lacklustre batting display.

In recent weeks though they have shown what they are capable of, and are in much better shape to contend with their opponents.

With their league status secured, Pool again give youth a chance, with James Piper, Nicky Rathbone and Jake Richardson all acting at the highest level.

Richardson in particular has had a steady season when given the opportunity at this level and he will be hoping he can push on and score runs more consistently.

Neil Coverdale and Jon RIckard will be hoping they can continue to score runs as they have in previous weeks, as will Craig Symington.

Marc Symington who looks set to keep wicket again will also want a score to his name having regularly made scores in the 20s this season.

Callum Prosser and Craig Symington will share the new ball, with Adam Greenwell, Nicky Rathbone and skipper Mike Yuill the other bowling options.

The second team are presently 20 points from safety in Division One but are able to name a strong team for their game.

A poor start to the campaign looks like it may catch Pool out, but they will take heart from their second half of the season.

Meanwhile, Seaton Carew travel to Great Ayton while in Division One Blackhall entertain Whitby.
