Pools impressed all over the pitch during Saturday’s win over Aldershot as goals from Mani Dieseruvwe and Tom Parkes secured their National League status – here are 10 things we learned:

9. The home fans have faith in Phillips
Pools were backed by more than 4,000 fans again on Saturday and, despite one or two grumblings in the second half as some supporters felt their side were sitting too deep, the atmosphere was positive and helped the hosts hold on to three points. Phillips has stressed the importance of making sure the Suit Direct is rocking every week, channelling the atmosphere a la Dave Challinor or Ronnie Moore. Photo: Mark Fletcher

10. Stephenson's pace proves vital
Phillips has often bemoaned his side's lack of pace since taking over in January, although since the return of Louis Stephenson to the team a right flank featuring the teenage full-back and Joe Grey looks full of speed. Defensively, he proved on a handful of occasions on Saturday that his pace allows him to sweep up in behind, something Pools have sorely lacked since the ACL injury suffered by Dan Dodds in August.
