Pools boss Keith Curle has stressed there will be a number of changes at the Suit Direct Stadium, with both ins and outs expected, next month as he looks to steer his side away from trouble in the League Two table. So here, at The Mail, we consider a number of potential Suit Direct Stadium exits and arrivals in the January transfer window.
9. IN - Jack Lambert
Alternatively, Lambert is another option Curle might have been considering as he watched the Quakers in action against Kettering Town and Spennymoor Town. Lambert is currently in his third spell with Darlington and is a player who is believed to be grabbing the attention of a number of clubs having scored 10 goals in the National League North with almost the same number of assists as Alun Armstrong’s side sit at the top of the table. At 23-years-old, the former Dundee and Scunthorpe United man has potential to continue his level of improvement. (Photo by Mark Runnacles/Getty Images) Photo: Mark Runnacles
10. IN - Brad Walker
The Mail understands Hartlepool hold an interest in bringing Walker back to the club in January, five years after he left to join Crewe Alexandra. Walker is no stranger at the Suit Direct Stadium having started his career with Pools. The Billingham-born midfielder has had spells with Wrexham and Shrewsbury Town before joining Port Vale last summer but he has not featured for the Valiants since October. The 27-year-old can operate in midfield or defence and would be seen as a strong addition by the club. (Photo by Morgan Harlow/Getty Images) Photo: Morgan Harlow
11. IN - Joe White
Newcastle United academy star White is a player Hartlepool have held a longstanding interest in having tried, and failed, to bring the 20-year-old back to the Suit Direct Stadium in the summer. White spent the second half of last season on loan with the club but chose to remain on Tyneside in the summer having not long returned from an injury. Curle and non-executive director Lennie Lawrence watched White and the Magpies under-21s in their Premier League Cup defeat at Sheffield United recently fuelling speculation the club may look to make another move for the youngster next month. 12. IN - Luke Armstrong
Something of a romantic January acquisition would be a return for Armstrong. The Harrogate forward was crucial to Hartlepool regaining their Football League status when scoring 15 times on loan from Salford City. The 26-year-old was one who got away from Dave Challinor that summer when agreeing to move to the North Yorkshire side instead of a potential return to the Suit Direct Stadium where he would go on to score 14 times last season, including once against Hartlepool. The striker did however sign a new three-year deal with the Sulphurites in the summer with Curle recently questioning the likelihood of whether Harrogate would sell him to Hartlepool.
