Here, we've taken a look at 17 more free agents Pools could consider signing in a bid to bolster their hopes of gatecrashing the top seven.

1. Ryan Watson
The experienced defensive-midfielder has been a free agent since leaving Salford, where he made 127 appearances, in the summer. While it's true that Pools are well-stocked in the engine room, Watson boasts impressive Football League pedigree thanks to spells at the likes of Northampton, MK Dons and Tranmere. 2. Kyle Jameson
Although the 27-year-old endured a challenging 2024/25 campaign and was released by League Two Newport after being sent off three times in 29 games, the centre-half is another who would provide Pools with considerable experience of playing at a higher level thanks to stints at Barrow, Oldham and Tranmere. 3. Scott Sinclair
The veteran, now 36, boasts huge experience and is a household name thanks to spells at the likes of Chelsea, Swansea, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Celtic, where he scored an impressive 62 goals in 167 games. Sinclair has been a free agent since leaving Bristol Rovers, who he captained but was unable to save from relegation to League Two, over the summer. Photo: Getty Images

4. Chris Martin
With the extent of the in-form Vadaine Oliver's injury still unclear, Pools could turn to the veteran Scotsman, who has enjoyed successful spells at the likes of Norwich, where he scored 34 goals in 111 games, Derby, finding the net 76 times in 224 appearances, and Bristol City, where he notched 17 goals in 95 matches. The 37-year-old showed he still has what it takes during a recent spell at Bristol Rovers, bagging 21 goals in 66 games. Photo: Marc Atkins
