Tuesday sessions at Pools see players pushed physically with Challinor keen to raise the fitness levels of his squad.

While there are no new injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s match at home to Aldershot Town, there were a few doubts following Tuesday’s gruelling training drill.

“We had a little scare on Tuesday,” Challinor said. “A couple of lads had to pull out of training but they’re back today so I don’t envisage any issues with them.

“Injury wise we’re not bad, no one will be coming back. Hawkesy [Josh Hawkes] is the one who is back in and around the squad and has trained no issue.

“Although we are a little bit short on the ground, it’s a similar situation to where we were last weekend with the addition of Gav Holohan’s suspension.”
