A dramatic late winner from substitute Aidan Keena helped Hartlepool United to their first away win of 2020 and left manager Dave Challinor delighted.

Pools’ 1-0 win at Solihull Moors sees them climb up to eighth in the National League table and level on points with the top seven.

Following the match Challinor said: “In terms of an away performance, it’s your archetypal ‘perfect’ one.

“It was a tight game of very few chances, lots of play between both boxes then one great forward run and pass allows Aidan to do what he does to win us the game.

“We spoke about these games against the teams around us and having to get a good points return.

“That should give them a whole lot of belief because the table looks a whole lot brighter and the players are tired because we played at an unbelievable intensity but we’ve got recover and take that into Saturday against Ebbsfleet.”
