Due to Ilkeston fans being allowed to attend, Pools fan @Michaelallen_99 joked: “Always been an Ilkeston Town fan. See you there lads!”

Pools president Jeff Stelling tweeted Ilkeston:“Looking forward to it guys. Sadly I will be working, but I am there in spirit. Beware we are flying at the moment!”
And Hartlepool manager Dave Challinor told the club website: “It’s a tough draw but one we’re looking forward to and it may give an opportunity for some players that haven’t had a chance to date in our league campaign.
“I’ve fond memories personally of Ilkeston, in my first full season as manager of my previous club, our first game was away to Ilkeston where we got a 1-1 draw. Kevin Wilson who I’m friends with was their manager alongside Steve Chettle and over the last few years, they’ve produced many players that have progressed into the EFL and Premier League.
